About Us

At Southern Yurts, we handcraft yurts that bring people together. Based in the Cotswolds, we provide large yurts for any special occasion; weddings, festivals, parties, wellness retreats, and corporate gatherings, as well as also supplying smaller yurts for glamping.

We are a hands-on team who stay in touch from your first enquiry right through to the day of your event. We can help you choose the right size and style of yurt, deliver and install it quickly, and recommend our trusted suppliers for decorations to match your vision.

Each of our yurts is built by hand using traditional methods. Our yurts are two-tiered with steam-bent roof poles which create our light and open structures Southern Yurts was founded with the simple idea to help people connect and enjoy the outdoors, indoors.

  • Dom, the founder of Southern Yurts, grew up in the New Forest and now lives in the West Country. His love of the outdoors, hands-on building, and working with wood led him to the beautiful Mongolian yurt, a structure that feels both traditional and grounding.

    With over ten years in the events industry, from catering and management to glamping, Dom realised he wanted to create spaces that encourage connection and joy. Building Southern Yurts’ largest structure, a 42-foot yurt, was a year-long project and remains one of his proudest achievements.

    In a world driven by screens, Dom finds meaning in making things that are real and lasting. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with friends, listening to music, and being outdoors, the same spirit Southern Yurts aims to bring to every event.

  • Vahur has over a decade of experience building and installing yurts across the UK. A meticulous craftsman, every joint, curve, and beam he creates is made with precision and care.

    He rarely writes anything down, each measurement and design detail lives in his head, allowing him to recreate stunning structures time after time. From his first day on site to the final inspection, Vahur’s focus ensures every yurt is built to perfection.

    He brings a calm, grounding presence to every project, approaching each build with quiet confidence and creativity, transforming wood and canvas into spaces that feel alive and welcoming.
